Practical guidance for caregiver candidates

Caregiver Work Models, Pay and Priority Service

The right work model is central to a good match. Pay depends on duties, experience, location, hours, accommodation, time off and the level of care required.

01

Live-in work

Confirm a private room, rest, weekly time off, night duties, travel and household responsibilities.

02

Daytime work

Agree fixed days and hours, travel, overtime, meals and public-holiday terms.

03

Hourly or temporary work

Useful for short companionship, relief cover or night support. Set minimum hours and cancellation terms.

04

Setting pay expectations

Consider experience, duties, schedule, location, live-in conditions and extra skills such as languages or driving.

05

Commissions and service fees

Any service or placement fee should record the amount, currency, date and exact service. Do not pay unexplained charges.

06

Priority candidate service

This optional service may speed up profile review but never guarantees a family interview, offer or placement.
